Our diverse team of engineers come from all over the world to design, test and build our dynamic fleet of robots and mechatronic systems. Current advancements are underway in autonomous movement and mobility, artificial intelligence and machine learning, manipulation, simulation, robotic management software, predictive analytics, and much more.

We are seeking exceptional candidates who possess a blend of technical and customer-facing skills to successfully support the Amazon Robotic Systems. This job will require a unique combination of creativity and leadership skills. As part of this highly influential team, candidates have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with global teams within Amazon to contribute to the continuous innovation of the Amazon Robotic Systems.

As a Hardware Reliability Engineer you will engage with cross functional teams to develop reliability models, support mechanisms and provide design for reliability/supportability recommendations.

Key job responsibilities
• Provide Design for Reliability, Maintainability and Supportability guidance to the new product introduction teams
• Develop reliability predictions for complex electro-mechanical systems
• Develop RAM Models for AR products and systems
• Develop Failure Modes Effects Analysis
• Develop reliability test plans and data collection strategies
• Assess vendor reliability data
• Advocate for the customer during the design process on failure modes, fault diagnostics and impacts to product supportability
• Design tool kits, identify custom tools and other support mechanisms for Robotic Systems
• Develop lifecycle support strategies and support mechanisms for new products
• Ensure supportability requirements and concerns are addressed for field launch
• Collaborate with customers to identify opportunities for improved maintenance strategies
• Develop tools, and support processes to expand diagnostic capabilities improve ergonomics, and reduce troubleshooting time
• Collaborate with Learning team to develop and improve Amazon Robotics University technical manuals and training modules

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS in mechanical, electrical or similar engineering
  • 6+ years of reliability engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Reliasoft or similar reliability modeling software
  • Experience with Solidworks
  • Experience defining supportability requirements
  • Experience developing FMEAs
  • Experience with fault detection/fault isolation metrics
  • Experience leading projects and/or teams
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Desire to learn intricate system operations in order to root cause difficult technical problems
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills for technical and non-technical content
  • Knowledge and/or working experience with statistical analysis tools, data visualization and program management
  • Certified Reliability Engineer
