Job Description:

Position Title: Quality Officer
Employment Type : Permanent Part Time

Hours per week : 20 Hour
Position Grade: Health Services Manager 1
Salary: $81,581.00 -$108,532.00 (pro-rata) base salary per annum

About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team leading our approach to the provision of quality care to clients of the St Vincents Network Sydney.

The Patient Safety and Quality Unit plays a crucial role in fostering a safe and high-quality healthcare environment, promoting best-practice, patient-centred practices, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.

The Quality Officer’s primary function is to collaborate with Quality Managers and Coordinators in developing and executing quality initiatives aligned with the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards. The key responsibility is to support the Policy Manager in overseeing clinical and corporate policy documents, assisting clinical teams in the development, review, and ratification of policies. Additionally, the role actively participates in improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing staff capabilities in policy writing and review

Selection Criteria:

  • Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.

  • Tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in health care, health administration or policy management.

  • Ability  to assist in the governance of policy documents within a healthcare or similar organisational context.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to critically evaluate policy documents and assess their effectiveness and impact on organisational practices and compliance.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders on multiple levels.

  • Well-developed organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to organise a high volume workload within agreed timeframes, and be able to write accurate and logical professional correspondence with close attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated commitment to a continuous improvement culture.

  • Well-developed computer literacy skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook, and skills in document management systems.
