Job Summary

As an Accountant, you will be responsible for administering and managing the daily requirements of accurately accounting for the retail supermarket business area.

THIS IS A HYBRID POSITION: 3 DAYS IN OFFICE (TUES. WED. THURS) IN OUR CRANBERRY CORPORATE OFFICE REQUIERD. NO EXCEPTIONS

Job Description

  • Experience Required: 3-5 years accounting experience
  • Education Required: Bachelors Degree in Accounting
  • Experience Required: Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP,, Concatenate, text-to-columns).
  • Oracle ERP experience an asset but not required
  • Previous experience using retail accounting method
  • Previous Public Accounting experience highly preferred


Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review and interpret financial information on a weekly and monthly basis to ensure accurate and timely distribution of financial reports.
  • Responsible for reviewing for P&Ls for accuracy, answering P&L questions and booking all recurring and nonrecurring entries
  • Review income statement and balance sheet accounts monthly and prepare journal entries and account reconciliations accurately.
  • Complete research and review of financial reporting for customer inquiries and facilitate effective conversations with internal and external customers involving financial reporting and processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, as requested, to ensure accurate and timely information is distributed.
  • Prepare and distribute supplemental reporting to the financial statements, both weekly and monthly, for management.
  • Actively evaluate assigned responsibilities and implement solutions that ensure efficient and effective procedures are utilized on an ongoing basis.
  • Foster strong working relationships with Team Members across the company to ensure efficient operation of the department and business.
  • Assist in resolving issues and improving work processes of the department and ensuring the department objectives are met.
  • Assist in special projects as requested.
