Our team specifically is building a next generation, machine learning based recommendations engine using highly scalable and modern technologies. Simultaneously, we also continue to support our in market products while delivering value to our customers via real time personalization. Expect to be able to work independently, in groups, and handle an on-call rotation. This is a full stack position where you’re expected to be comfortable working in back-end Java code, a front-end web app, and even assist with deployments.

Your Impact:

• Design, implement, test and deliver highly scalable products
• Master our development process, culture and code base, then improve upon it
• Operate effectively in the hybrid engineering model where engineers are encouraged to be able to craft and implement the vital work to ensure quality in their own code as well as other specialists’
• Present your own designs to internal/external groups and review designs of others
• Develop test strategies, design automation frameworks, write unit/functional tests to drive up code coverage and automation metrics.
• Participate in the team’s on-call rotation to address sophisticated problems in realtime and keep services operational and highly available

Required skills:

• A related technical degree required
• At least 1 year of professional software development experience
• Deep knowledge of object oriented programming and experience with at least one object oriented programming language (Java)
• Basic understanding of machine learning based recommendations systems
• Familiarity with containerized infrastructure and image deployments such as Kubernetes, Docker
• Shown understanding of database technologies such as SQL, Dynamo DB, MongoDB, Elasticsearch (or Opensearch)
• Experience in automated testing including unit and functional testing using Java, JUnit, JSUnit, Selenium
• Excellent interpersonal skills

Preferred Skills:

• Experience building high performant real-time systems
• Experience with Agile software development and test-driven development
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent field
• Track record of being a top performer in current and past roles
