Senior Software Developer - Technical Leader

Your Role and Responsibilities
You will be leading a newly established, highly motivated and skilled team working on a new IBM product focusing on Data Integration capabilities. Drive design and development activities, perform code reviews and actively contribute to daily team activities (scrum/stand-up meetings, progres checkpoints, demo sessions), be able to lead collaboration with different teams and team members across worldwide development organisation, participate in customer support activities resolving complex issues and providing assistance to our customers.
Applicants should have prior experience with or be able to master the tools and techniques for building, deploying, operating, and supporting large scale hybrid cloud platforms, services, and applications, based on Kubernetes and DevOps practices.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
You will be leading a highly motivated and skilled team incubating a new business for IBM with the goal of fundamentally changing how we think about data, metadata, and data access. Guide a team of software engineers and collaborate with other engineering teams, product management, etc. to design, code, test, document, and support industry-leading solutions that make that make data management more effective.
Applicants should have prior experience with or be able to master the tools and techniques for building, deploying, operating, and supporting large scale hybrid cloud platforms, services, and applications, based on Kubernetes and DevOps practices. Challenges include optimizing demanding Open APIs, heterogeneous computation platforms, and operational requirements for highly available and reliable services.

Specific responsibilities may include:

• Provide technical leadership and mentoring for a team of software engineers,
• Work with other technical leads in engineering, product management, science teams, and business teams to create High-quality content for releases, including Ray, AWS and Kubernetes-based software, documentation, blogs, training content, etc., as needed,
• Work closely with other team leaders to refine the product roadmap, including specific features and release plans,
• Work closely with other technical leads and individual contributors to refine the platform architecture and design, as well as the DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) processes used to create, deploy, and manage software.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Modern front-end JavaScript based technologies (React, Angular),
• Experience with cloud services from AWS, Azure and Google,
• Understanding of Agile/scrum
• Prior experience in a technical leadership role
• Demonstrated ability to organise, prioritise, and multi-task in a fast paced, changing, and agile development Environment to meet deadlines
• Leadership skills such as empathy, organisation, the ability to guide and motivate others and to address the problems They encounter,
• Ability to work in complex development environment with development teams spread across the world
