Industrial Engineers apply advanced problem-solving techniques and Lean Manufacturing principles to design, develop, and optimize production processes to maximize throughput, efficiency, and value. Industrial Engineers are involved in Process Mapping, Capacity Planning, Manpower Planning, Factory Layout, Line Balancing, Simulation and Process Modeling, Labor Performance Analysis, and Project Management using the Lean Transformation Strategy.

Responsibilities will focus primarily on supporting factory leadership, Strategic Business Unit partners, and peer organizations to advance Lean Transformation initiatives, identify strategic investment opportunities, and lead critical projects benefitting the make center:

Analyze manufacturing system performance to identify undesirable effects and Lead opportunities for improvement.

Calculate resource utilization, cycle time, required SWIP and identify throughput constraints to achieve takt.

Apply Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles to eliminate constraints, improve efficiency, and meet or exceed cost, quality, and on-time delivery

Create process flows, value stream maps, pareto charts, spaghetti diagrams, and CAD drawings to graphically show manufacturing processes, the movement of material, the exchange of information, and key metrics.

Contribute to strategic roadmaps focused on factory capacity, Manufacturing Technology insertion, infrastructure improvements, obsolescence mitigation, and the integration of new capabilities.

Partner with project managers and factory support functions to improve modify the factory footprint and layout of factory equipment as needed.

Support program contract proposals, business case development for future investments, supplier assessments, and Make/Buy/Where analyses.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or Business. Preferred majors are: Industrial Engineering and Systems Engineering.
• 8 years of applicable experience, or 5 years with master’s degree in a related field
• Experience in data analysis and manipulation utilizing SQL, Python, Power Query, or equivalent software, including experience interfacing with SAP or ERP systems
• Experience with applying lean methodologies to influence change and improve processes
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Value:

Experience with key EVMS and production metric terminology including BCWP, BCWS, IHPT, Cycle Time, Standard Values, and Utilization

Experience with simulation modeling and capacity analysis

Experience with factory layout and work cell design /optimization

Experience with project management

Experience with CAD software

Six Sigma certifications

Working Environments:

This position involves direct support of manufacturing activities supporting specific programs across Raytheon factories and the supply chain and may require frequent travel.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
