What You Will Do:

Pratt & Whitney is seeking Hole Drill Process Manufacturing Engineers to lead new product introduction tasks for the turbine blades and turbine vanes value streams in the Hot Section Module Center. 

The selected candidates will have the opportunity to work in a high technology, advanced program environment incorporating the latest manufacturing readiness assessment tools. They will partner with engineering, operations, and suppliers to evaluate the most efficient and cost-effective process design. The ideal candidate will develop manufacturing process alternatives based on improved manufacturability and producibility. Primary location in East Hartford CT and up to 20% travel may be required. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Participate in hole drill and inspection technology development projects
  • Develop tooling, process parameters, and controls to create a capable and stable process 
  • Perform technology and process development tasks; including, first piece runs, measurement system analysis and capability assessments 
  • Coordination and communication with Engineering on Manufacturing capabilities, development timelines, and manufacturing readiness 

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • A university degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, aerospace engineering or similar
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be a US Citizen due to Government Contracts 

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with continuous improvement tools: Process Certification, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, PFMEA, Six Sigma and/or Red-X 
  • Experience with non-conventional machining (laser and EDM preferred)
  • Demonstrated history of manufacturing technology development work

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
