Job Title- Production Engineering Support

Location- Bangalore/ Pune, India

Role Description

We are looking for a motivated Production Engineering support for our Corporate Bank TST domain – TAS applications platform. This role requires an individual with a wide variety of strengths and capabilities across multiple technologies and disciplines. They are expected to continually drive automation in all day-to-day production support activities. The role requires a high level of accountability to deliver technical solutions and continuous improvements in the overall support strategy. The role requires the management of all aspects of Trade finance and Lending functions, (documentary trade, Supply chain, Lending) working closely with geographically diverse support and development teams to continue to build a market leading support organization for Corporate Bank IT.

Your key responsibilities

The successful candidate will have a strong technical background and solid production application support/operations experience. They will have a good working knowledge of SRE / DevOps, agile methodology, stability and resiliency while delivering an exceptional client experience. They will be accountable to drive a culture of proactive continual improvement through application, user request support, troubleshooting and issue resolution as well as automation of manual work, monitoring improvements and platform hygiene.

The role will also require development of strong partnerships, engagement and influence across various teams within CB Technology and across the bank. Additionally, working with Deutsche Bank’s central engineering teams and other partners to drive bank standards adoption.

The candidate should have experience in all relevant tools used in the service operations environment and possess specialist expertise in one or more technical domains. They will further ensure that all associated service operations stakeholders are provided with an optimum level of service in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) / Operating Level Agreements (OLAs).

  • Maintain a strong technical acumen focused on overall Systems Architecture and Engineering to deliver platforms that meet defined requirements from the Business / Application delivery teams
  • Adhere to departmental policies and provides quality service for the Corporate Bank application platform infrastructure landscape
  • Readily manage multiple priorities and tasks in support of bank initiatives
  • Continuous development of efficient processes utilizing bank technologies and automation tools
  • Compliance with Operational Processes: Daily Operations, Change Management & Problem Management
  • Leverage / Influence broader organization of SRE’s and technologist to build communities that contribute to solutions and implementation
  • Define our CB Strategic roadmap for production operational tools and drive adoption (AI, ML, Automation, Monitoring & Observability)
  • Embrace a Continuous Service Improvement approach to resolve IT failings, drive efficiencies and remove repetition to streamline support activities, reduce risk, and improve system availability
  • Carry out technical analysis of the Production platform to identify and remediate performance and resiliency issues
  • Act as a production engineering role model to enhance the technical capability of the Production Support teams
  • Build strong partnerships with CIO’s and the extended CB technology organization
  • Understand the end-to-end flow of data through the application infrastructure
  • Drive knowledge management across the supported applications
  • Places an emphasis on mentoring and development of individuals to reach their potential.

    • Following and documenting processes, ensuring systems meet defined SLA’s and implementing established security standards
    • Leads or participates in (un)planned maintenance outages which are well organized, with effectively communicated goals and executed to meet desired results
    • Performs and reports statistics for team and system health checks on an appropriate frequency
    • Responds to customer/client requirements and develops and/or implements programs or technical solutions to satisfy customer/client requests
    • Adheres to defined service level agreements
       

Your skills and experience

Experience | Exposure (Recommended):

  • Overall IT experience of 10+ years including 5+ years of experience in IT in large corporate environments, specifically in the area of controlled production environments or in Financial Services Technology in a client-facing function
  • SRE mindset and have implemented SRE, DevOps, agile models 
  • Experience leading a team and people management
  • Global Transaction Banking / Corporate and Investment Banking Experience a plus
  • Experience of end-to-end Level 2 management and good overview of Production/Operations Management
  • Articulate and experienced communicator
  • Experienced managing relationships within all levels of organization including partner teams
  • Experience across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and the associated control gates
  • Very familiar with Waterfall, Agile and DevOps - CI/CD and SRE practices
  • Experience with complex IT infrastructure (UNIX, Database, Middleware, incl. Cloud and associated native tooling)
  • Able to work directly with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Ability to work with global virtual teams across multiple countries, cultures and time zones
  • Able to demonstrate previous successful innovation and delivery
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in virtual teams and in matrix structures
  • Working knowledge of incident tracking tools (e.g, Service Now, jira)
  • Ability to manage incidents, do problem management and effectively communicate with business/ operations stakeholders  
  •  Understanding Pre and Post Trade Settlement process, documentary credit, Supply chain financing and loan service business awareness would be added advantage 

Education/Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Computer Science or IT-related discipline (or equivalent work experience or diploma)
  • ITIL Foundation Certificate
  • PMP certification from PMI is a plus

Technical Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of databases (Oracle/MSSQL etc.), including working experience of writing SQL scripts and queries 
  • Working experience on UNIX/Linux, Solaris, Java J2EE, PERL, Python, Powershell scripts, Bash, Ansible
  • Working knowledge of GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, Maven
  • Secure connectivity and protocols
  • Scheduling Tools (Control-M/AutoSys)
  • ITIL Framework.
  • Experience in application performance monitoring tools – Geneos, Splunk, AppDynamics, Grafana & New Relic)
  • Experience with Connect:Direct, MQ, Kafka, Informatica
  • Experience with Atlassian tools Jira, Confluence, BitBucket, Agile Frameworks
  • Firewall and load balancing technologies
  • Knowledge of Cloud based technologies (Google Cloud Platform is an added advantage)
  • Worked in implementing SRE model or deep exposure to Agile, DevOps
