Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative scientist to join the Immunology and Inflammation Research Therapeutic Area as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Sanofi, redefining R&D with Immunoscience. This position will work with the Type 2 Inflammation research team towards increasing our biological understanding of the role of IL-4/IL-13 and mechanism of action of Dupixent in Chronic Rhinosinusitis with Nasal Polyps to contribute to differentiation strategies in the competitive landscape via communicating research discoveries through peer-reviewed publications and presentations at scientific conferences. The fellow will also have an opportunity to contribute significantly to the preclinical research efforts directed towards enhancing our biological and therapeutic understanding of assets in clinical development or life cycle management for multiple indications. The successful candidate’s research will primarily focus on analyzing human polyp and/or nasal tissue biopsies and involve behavioral analyses in murine models, imaging, cell-based assays, molecular techniques, and multi-omics approaches.

The ideal candidate will have strong laboratory experience and technical expertise in histopathological evaluation, murine models of olfactory dysfunction/smell, neuronal and/or immune cell culture and functional assays, and gene expression analysis. The candidate should be able to scientifically lead and execute preclinical research work, analyze, and present data, and have an ability to utilize excellent technical, written, and oral communication skills, and effectively collaborate in a team environment. The candidate will be curious in exploring new paths for scientific discoveries and bold in proposing creative experimental designs and ideas.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Formulate research hypotheses and apply scientific expertise to conceptualize, design and execute appropriate experiments to validate the hypothesis.

  • Work collaboratively with multifunctional teams across Sanofi to leverage vast resources and expertise and ensure that research efforts are aligned with strategies of Discovery, Development, Commercial and Medical Affairs.

  • Stays at the forefront of scientific advances and applies acumen to ongoing research efforts and the strategic direction of experimental priorities.

  • Analyze data, present at key international scientific meetings, and publish high impact manuscripts.

  • Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of laboratory conduct, safety and appropriate handling of materials.

ABOUT YOU

Basic Qualifications:

  • PhD in Physiology, Pathology, Immunology, Neuroimmunology, or a related field and possess a strong publication record.

  • Hands-on-experience working with human polyp, nasal, or relevant tissue biopsies, mouse models of human respiratory/olfactory/sensory diseases, neuron and/or immune cell culture, neurological and/or immunological assays, and molecular techniques.

  • Experience in cell characterization (e.g., using flow cytometry), functional assay development, and murine neurobehavioral studies.

  • Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision and effectively within timelines and collaborate in a highly matrixed global environment.

  • Possesses strong presentation skills and an exceptional work ethic

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Research experience in respiratory, inflammatory, and/or sensory neuron disorders.

  • Relevant postdoctoral research experience in an academic or biopharmaceutical setting.
