US Personal Banking (USPB) FP&A is a high-caliber team providing financial support to the USPB CFO and CEO.  The team partners closely with the various products, and functions to analyze and present financial results and develop strategies to address high-priority initiatives.  FP&A has the unique position of seeing a holistic and strategic view of the business and the industry, both internally as well as externally through collaboration in earnings and investor communications.  Success in the role will ensure the candidate has a strong network throughout Citi and a firm understanding of the key strategic and financial priorities of a leading global financial institution. 

USPB consists of U.S. Personal Banking – inclusive of Branded Cards, Retail Services and U.S. Retail Banking including Mortgage Lending.  The EDS FP&A lead for the USPB business is responsible for the execution of advanced analysis and insight of USPB’s financial projections and strategic goals.  Ideal candidates have an in-depth knowledge of the financial services industry across the full range of products and services offered by Citi and its competitors coupled with significant experience analyzing financial performance.  The objective is to apply a combination of strategic thinking and analytical prowess to help senior management gauge USPB’s alignment with forecasted performance and to uncover and explore opportunities for improvement and identify any risks to target objectives.



Responsibilities:

  • Lead execution short-term forecasting processes for USPB, coordinating with business FP&A teams
  • Support the preparation of UPSB business performance reviews (e.g., Quarterly Business Reviews)
  • Articulate the strategic vision and “story” to key stakeholders internally as well as partner with Investor Relations for external communication at earnings, conferences, investor days and similar events
  • Analyze monthly results and provide insights on performance relative to financial targets and strategic priorities
  • Lead the identification, consolidation, measuring and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) across the organization, including the setting of appropriate targets for financial performance
  • Create ad-hoc analytics on themes that arise at senior management’s request and/or through proactive research of potential issues across the entire spectrum of business performance
  • Enhance process and analytics to support management in their business performance reviews
  • Provide analytical insight, leveraging a core set tools, on a regular basis to senior management; identify opportunities to adopt digital innovation and adoption in reporting and analytics 
  • Prepare innovative visualizations, presentations, and commentary to help summarize complex information and highlight key issues
  • Provide oversight, coaching and development of team members

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of relevant experience
  • 8-10+ years of managerial experience
  • Experience in financial services
  • Expertise in financial statement analysis, including key accounting and financial/regulatory topics crucial to the success of a large, global financial services institution
  • Excellent quantitative and data visualization skills with a strong attention to details
  • Comfortable structuring and executing own workstream and deliverables, especially when presented with only general guidance; knows how to take limited direction and respond with highly effective materials and analysis
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships and interact at all levels of an organization
  • Experience with enterprise financial software, such as Essbase
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to partner and collaborate with others
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master’s degree preferred
