About the Role
An opportunity exists for a Continence Nurse– Grade 4 to join the multidisciplinary Continence Team. This Parental Leave cover is for 16 hours per week. As a specialist Continence Nurse you will provide clinical leadership, and be responsible for the assessment and management strategies for clients referred with specific continence problems. Our service receives referrals from diverse sources including the community, and specialist clinics at St Vincent’s Fitzroy including Urology and Colorectal. This role offers a variety of clinical experience, at Kew and Fitzroy campus’s, and there is an opportunity to be involved in project work.
Duties
Carry out comprehensive and evidence based assessments, care planning and treatment outpatient clients who are experiencing continence difficulties
Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the Continence team, HIP team, referral sources and other agencies
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve the Continence and Health Independence Programs
Provide specialist education and advice to colleagues and clients regarding continence management and pelvic floor rehabilitation
Classifications for this position will be YX11 ($113,646.00 per annum pro rata)
Your Contribution
Current Div 1 Nurse Registration
Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain/ Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willing to obtain (Select which is applicable)
Experience in the treatment of incontinence and pelvic floor disorders
Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
Qualification in Continence management preferred
Highly developed organisational, planning and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously or within an interdisciplinary team

The Continence Service is one of the HIP services that provides time- limited, goal–orientated care for people who have a physical disability, are frail, chronically ill or recovering from traumatic injury or illness to regain and /or maintain optimal function.
