Job Description:

You as a Head of Project Operations Middle East will be part of Hitachi Energy business based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Ensuring that the area of responsibility is structured to fit the business model, sufficiently staffed with skilled resources, and directed appropriately, guiding, motivating, and developing direct and indirect reports within HR policies. Overseeing competency assessments and ensures that project staff is licensed and certified appropriately, leading and coaching the project execution team to achieve business objectives, i.e. to drive efficiency and effectiveness, improving cash flow, revenue, and profitability and defining organization of the project in coordination with the Project Manager by assigning project team members to projects based on competencies, customers, and availability.

Your responsibilities          

• Project leadership that leading implementation of continuous improvements for the project execution strategy for the local or regional project operation under the guidance of the Local OU Manager or HUB Operations Manager.
• Project portfolio that ensuring that the regional or local portfolio of projects is managed consistently, based on best practices and Hitachi Energy Policies.
• Instructions and guidelines that leading and overseeing the project execution teams locally or regionally, ensuring that Hitachi Energy policies are consistently followed. Developing, customizing, and continuously improves standard processes and work instructions by adopting Hitachi Energy and external best practices. Ensures that lessons learned from project execution are analyzed and conclusions are incorporated in continuous improvement actions.
• Budgeting, sales, and operations planning that participating in the budgeting process, jointly with operating Unit or HUB Manager and controller and in sales and operations planning with other members of the operating Unit or HUB Manager and taking actions to close potential gaps in project execution capacity and planning revenues with the teams and ensures smooth execution of projects.
• Project execution and control that supervising project execution and performance management through project reviews with management and project managers to ensuring contract fulfilment and approves any project deviations and taking an active role in resolving escalated issues, especially those raised by the customer and the portfolio of projects follows good methodology and execution practices in accordance with internal standard procedures, and projects are closed as per contracts entered with customers.
• Contract and claims ensuring that projects consistently apply contract and claims management, in accordance with Hitachi Energy policies and contractual agreements.
• Stakeholder relations building and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and serving as an escalation point for individual and systemic project management issues within the project execution team, validating and supporting that adequate HSE measures are taken in the respective project operations functions and that an HSE culture is implemented and maintained in the organization.

Your background             

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical or electrical or MBA field is required.
• Minimum 15 years of project management experience in power or T&D industry and Middle East experience is necessary.
• Experience in customer and business oriented, strong commercial and project management skills, leading virtual teams, managing critical and complex products and systems, complex projects, customers and market conditions and strong customer intimacy is preferred.
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
