Job Purpose:

Contribute to the forming of business strategy and translating it into people and organization strategy through business understanding and partnering. Ensure the business has access to the critical organizational capabilities required to deliver the strategy. Ensuring senior teams are highly engaged, diverse, and high performing.

Responsible for:

Strategic People Agenda

•Actively contribute to the business strategy

•Work with Center of Excellence to prioritize and develop Maersk’s future People Function policies and processes based on short-and long-term business needs

•Identify and close capability and competency gaps, culture enhancement, workforce planning, etc. in close partnership with CoEs and People Partnering organization

•Drive the succession planning of key positions and long-term talent development in the function/ geography

•Develop strong People Function talent though direct and indirect leadership and role modelling

•Contribute to the forming of business strategy and translating it into a people and organization strategy

•Where relevant, drive Employee Relations agenda, ensuring right partnering with workers councils, unions - including negotiations of different formal consultation processes for different topics

Partner with the Head of Function/Geographical Leader

•Be an active participant in Functional /Area Management Team

•Collaborate to design efficient organizational structures enabling the business strategy

•Act as a sparring partner and courageous coach to senior leaders helping them to develop

•Support with building high performing teams that are prepared for the future needs of the organization, on promoting a high-performance culture and addressing performance improvement needs within their teams.

•Support senior leaders through strategic parts of annual people cycle. Partner with People Partner and deployment teams on support needed for annual people cycle.

•Provide guidance on employee retention & recognition options, e.g., development opportunities, employee recognition programs, etc.

•Facilitate trainings on diverse people topics.

•Discuss need to hire at Area Management Positions and other Senior Leadership roles.

•Provide advice & guidance on select exit scenarios, ensure compliance with local labor law, manage process down to area leaders and support communication to employees

•Discuss with senior leaders the business needs for International Assignments, initiate and support the IA process.

•Work with hiring manager on creating a comprehensive onboarding plan for new joiners in senior leadership roles, with key focus on driving aspects related to the people strategy, culture and leadership. Regularly check in with hiring manager regarding onboarding of new joiners

Drive the People Agenda

•Build a bridge between corporate People agenda and local (area/region) strategy

•Foster a culture where the Maersk behaviors and values are embedded and on which business decisions are made

•Liaise with the People Partnering organization to drive and implement People strategic priorities and to ensure People Function service delivery is matching the needs of the business

•Proactively drive a culture of collaboration and sharing across the Strategic PBP community ensuring alignment across
