EY’s GDS Tax Technology team’s mission is to develop, implement and integrate technology solutions that better serve our clients and engagement teams. As a member of EY’s core Tax practice, you’ll develop a deep tax technical knowledge and outstanding ERP, database, data analytics and programming skills. 

 

Ever-increasing regulations require tax departments to gather, organize and analyse more data than ever before. Often the data necessary to satisfy these ever-increasing and complex regulations must be collected from a variety of systems and departments throughout an organization. Effectively and efficiently handling the variety and volume of data is often extremely challenging and time consuming for a company. 

 

EY's GDS Tax Technology team members work side-by-side with the firm's partners, clients and tax technical subject matter experts to develop and incorporate technology solutions that enhance value-add, improve efficiencies and enable our clients with disruptive and market leading tools supporting Tax. 

 

GDS Tax Technology works closely with clients and professionals in the following areas: Direct Tax, Transfer Pricing, Indirect Tax, BEPS Pillar 2 and other areas in the tax technology space. GDS Tax Technology provides solution architecture, application development, testing and maintenance support to the global TAX service line both on a pro-active basis and in response to specific requests. 

 

EY is currently seeking a Functional Senior to join our Tax Technology practice across all of our locations. 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

• Design effective Tax and Finance solutions with an emphasis on improving processes, compliance, efficiency and better decision making - this includes drafting user requirements, process mappings, Data flows diagrams, functional and technical design documents, among other documents depending on the deployment methodologies.
• Implement these solutions by collaborating in the configuration, development, unit testing, preparing test scripts and project management activities.
• Identify and develop solutions for complex business challenges on the intersection of finance, IT and tax
• Support our team of Tax Technology experts in implementation of solutions in SAP and other technologies.
• Involvement in the development of innovative services and preparation of turnkey solutions for clients
• Manage clients and teams located in multiple locations.

 

Qualification & Experience Required

 

• Bachelor’s / master’s degree in software engineering / Information Technology / MBA / MCA or equivalent experience (can also be a more accounting/tax focused professional who has moved into technology).
• An overall 4-10 years’ experience SAP Project Implementation.
• Experience and understanding of tools.
• Ideally experienced in:
  • SAP PaPM Development
  • Financial Planning & Analysis, Tax, or Transfer Pricing
  • Scrum and Project management
• Additional knowledge is an advantage:
  • Finance/Accounting, other tax subject areas (Indirect tax, Pillar 2 etc.)
  • Knowledge/Experience on BTP technologies such as SAP Build, CAP
  • Gen AI.
  • Integrations with SAP and other technology.
• Team handling skills, analytical skills, presentation skills, ability to work under pressure.
• Should be capable of supporting architecture and design and guide team as required to prepare and present weekly reports to all stakeholders.
• Able to identify and manage risks and issues keep leadership informed.
• Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.

 

SAP & Tax experience required: 

 

• Tax / Transfer Pricing project experience (FP&A experience an alternative will also be considered)
• SAP PaPM technical understanding required.
• Design and/or implementation experience (from a functional perspective) in one or more mentioned SAP technologies modules like SAP PaPM / SAP BW / SAP HANA / SAP BPC / SAP Analytics Cloud
• SAP FI understanding
