The following position is to join our RTX Corporate, Enterprise Services in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico:

The Controllership and Compliance organization is looking to expand its General Accounting team beyond Farmington, Connecticut by hiring a highly motivated senior analyst in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico. This person will perform the following primary responsibilities.

What You Will Do

  • Perform monthly journal entries, closing activities, and account reconciliations related to various Pratt & Whitney accounts, including but not limited to corporate allocations, collaboration accounting (assessments, segment allocations), Geared Turbo Fan (GTF) delayering, tax support, etc.
  • Support lease accounting and reporting process for business units
  • Prepare month end reporting including miscellaneous supplementals and deliverables to support disclosures for 10-Q/10-K
  • Participate in process improvement activities related to all central accounting functions as required, i.e., journal entry automation, creating standard processes, and other finance transformation initiatives
  • Contribute to ES by bringing innovative solutions within the knowledge base and work of the department
  • Provide excellent customer service to Pratt & Whitney accounts, including answering questions or responding to ad hoc requests as required

Qualifications You Must Have 

  • Minimum of two years of experience in Accounting or related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Familiarity with US GAAP Accounting
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills in English
  • At least 2 years of experience working with MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and database reporting skills
  • Candidates must be located in and willing to work in a hybrid capacity from RTX hub in Santa Isabel, PR. Please consider the following role type definitions as you apply for this role: Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.
  • This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Knowledge of or experience with current finance and accounting systems and month end close procedures
  • Experience in SAP, HFM and/or SmartView is a plus
  • Ability to maintain a service-oriented demeanor with professionalism in sensitive and challenging situations
  • Analytical, planning, and organizational skills to problem solve and recommend comprehensive solutions
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Excellent teambuilding and interpersonal skills
  • Proven experience in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
