Role Description

At the heart of Deutsche Bank (DB) is the Corporate Bank (CB), a market leader in cash management, trade finance, lending, trust and agency services and securities services, as well as risk management for foreign exchange and interest rates. 

Securities Services (SeS) provides custody, clearing, settlement and fund services to global custodians, broker dealers, and prime brokers as well as buy-side firms and other institutional clients.

The candidate will join an existing team based out of India, Berlin, and London.

This role forms part of the firm’s Divisional Risk and Control function. The successful candidate will be responsible for overall Offboarding, Non-Financial Risk and Control Management for the Securities Services’ Business Management function, within the Corporate Bank division of Deutsche Bank India Pvt Limited (DIPL), Mumbai.

The candidate will be a key member of the function overlooking Change Implementation related matters across all regions and subjects as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), and representing SeS on the bank’s policy framework, advocating the best interests of the bank as well as the business, mainly outlining Know Your Client (KYC) and Offboarding subjects.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop an understanding and participate in Controls focused initiatives including Preventative or Detective controls.
  • Represent SeS as an SME on Global Forums related to Change Management topics but not limited to KYC, Perimeter and Offboarding.
  • Manage CB wide policy framework roll out for SeS division and ensure appropriate communication across levels and with senior management.
  • Managing client, risk, and policy framework information for applicable divisions and functions throughout the year
  • Co-ordinate differences with regards to divisional (SeS) policies vis-à-vis global policies with relevant policy and Non-Financial Risk (NFR) stakeholders
  • Developing a positive risk culture, for SeS whilst assuring strategy alignment with Operations and business stakeholders
  • Driving Projects related to control and change management activities within SeS (Includes but not limited to KYC, offboarding / termination, exiting active clients and operational aspects)
  • Co-ordinate audit related projects with relevant stakeholders ensuring accuracy and transparency.
  • Initiate change projects based on new Global policies and / any Self-Identified Issues (SII) with relevant stakeholders and Divisional Control Office (DCO) unit.

Your Skills & Experience

  • Desired background: Graduate with 7-8 years of experience in Financial Services
  • Experience of working with global stakeholders and global teams
  • Proficiency in other MS office tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English language
  • Readiness and ability to learn “on the job”, to deep-dive independently and transfer learnings to related processes/cases including evaluation of possible variations.
  • Willingness to be flexible, to meet changing work priorities and tasks, with an ability to manage a high workload.
  • The ability to work under pressure, handle multiple priorities and work as part of a team as well as individually
  • An eye for detail, identify data discrepancies and exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • A willingness and ability to work across multiple geographic locations with various stakeholders to deliver results.
