Your Role and Responsibilities
This position is for a Web and Application Administrator supporting the Army commercial cloud customers who reside in Microsoft Azure Gov & DoD regions. It is a managed service provider (MSP) for Army IT systems and supports enterprise applications owners with migrating their systems into Microsoft Azure and to provide sustainment services to support their applications. This Web and Application Administrator position will provide a full suite of web and application administration capabilities to it's cloud customers who are in various phases of their application modernization.

Position Duties:

Serve as a Web and Application subject matter expert (SME) for evaluating customer's current application architecture and develop a new architecture to be deployed in Azure and utilizing cloud native application and database services as much as possible (PaaS vs IaaS).

Collaborate with internal and external parties to transform high-level business and technical objectives into comprehensive technical requirements that can be executed.

Build and deploy web and application infrastructure for customer applications.

Provide sustainment of customer web and application tier systems to include installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, hardening of systems per STIG guidance and industry best practices, and SSL certificate management.

Work closely with customer developers for regular project releases and code deployments.

Provide troubleshooting assistance and root cause analysis for any reported issues.

Provide on-call support for triage and resolution of after-hours production incidents.

Assist with identifying and planning potential new cloud services, features, and capabilities.

Make recommendations for improvements to security, scalability, manageability, and performance across a wide variety of network, storage, compute, and mid-tier technologies.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Security Clearance: DOD Secret (Fully Adjudicated), as a minimum

Citizenship: US

Required Certifications:

Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570.01-M IA Tech Level II certification
  • Must have (or obtain within 6 months of hire) Windows administrator related computing environment certification (i.e. MCSA, MCSE, or equivalent) as defined in DoD 8570.01-M
  • Mid to senior level web and application tier administration experience utilizing mid-tier tools such as IIS, Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, or JBOSS to include building, configuring, hardening, patching, upgrading, and overall administration of the web and application server environments.
  • Basic system administration knowledge of Linux and Windows Server operating systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience effectively managing multiple large-scale projects
  • Experience scripting and automating routine administrative tasks utilizing PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, and other Infrastructure as Code tools.
  • Experience utilizing Git.
  • Understanding of network, storage, server, and application technologies.


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Experience with Gitlab, Azure DevOps Server or similar
Experience building CI/CD Pipelines
Familiarity with Kubernetes, Containers is desired
Working knowledge of DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) and the Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) process.
