We're not just revolutionizing streaming video; we're reshaping it entirely. We’re changing the world of streaming video and looking for a dedicated Software Engineer to be a key contributor to the team while driving the technical design, implementation, and improvement of services.

What You Will Do

You should be invested in iterative improvement on the software systems, domain stack, and data organization to empower agile and continuous development while maintaining high system availability and reliability. You would use technologies like Springboot/Java, MySQL, Postgres, AWS native resources (Kinesis, DynamoDB, S3, SNS, SQS, etc), and Kafka for backend development and React/Javascript for frontend engineering.

  • Develop, test and launch working features across the full stack including APIs written in Java that are built in a complex microservice architecture.

  • Write Python scripts to resolve inconsistent data in our project’s data store by retrieving information from various data sources and utilizing APIs to correct erroneous data entries.

  • Incorporate feedback from others on the team to improve code to be more scalable and easy to maintain.

  • Gather requirements from engineering managers, product managers, and technical project managers to turn high level requirements into actionable technical plans.

  • Independently develop features, seeking assistance when needed to overcome obstacles.

  • Own engineering efforts for specific components of the team’s flagship web service.

  • Collaborate with other engineers by proposing new approaches to solving problems.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience and proficiency in Java

  • Understanding of computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms (hashing, trees, graphs, search, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with relational (SQL-based) and non-relational database (DynamoDB, Elasticache) technologies, and messaging technologies (Kinesis, Kafka, SQS, SNS)

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience

The hiring range for this position in California is $93,400 to $125,200 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
