About the Role:

Do you enjoy building and experimenting with the latest security and virtualization technologies? Are you interested in leveraging your systems administration or DevSecOps expertise and spreading your passion for these technologies with others?

CrowdStrike is looking for a Sr. Lab Administrator, Training to help support and scale our hands-on labs and infrastructure used in our CrowdStrike University training courses. We need your skills to maintain and grow our training lab platforms to deliver outstanding experiences and learning outcomes to our customers and partners. You will also be expected to learn and understand CrowdStrike Falcon and the various products and services CrowdStrike has to offer while working with the best in the business. As a Sr. Lab Administrator, Training, you will engage cross-functionally with our internal teams to design, plan, develop, and maintain lab infrastructure that enables our instructors and customers to engage in meaningful and reliable hands-on activities and demonstrations. 

This role requires technical aptitude, keen attention to detail, and a proactive mindset to not only solve problems but to develop proactive solutions and approaches. 

Ideally, this person will be based in US Mountain or Pacific time.

           

What You’ll Do:

  • Create lab environments and build infrastructure for usage in Instructor-Led and On-Demand Training courses

  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to gather and implement technology requirements for labs

  • Configure cloud-based lab machine images leveraging scripts and automation tools

  • Create secure infrastructure, code, and environments that are well tested and maintained

  • Monitor lab environments for availability, perform health checks, and troubleshoot issues to maintain continuity of operations

  • Resolve urgent, class-impacting lab issues by triaging, troubleshooting and escalating while keeping stakeholders informed

  • Create and/or utilize CI/CD processes to build, maintain and update lab environments and images

  • Research and architect solutions to enable hands-on education for security operations center environments

  • Develop and maintain processes documentation to ensure continuity of operations amongst the team

  • Coordinate with internal teams to identify technical requirements and potential problems, issues, and solutions

  • Serve as a technical lab resource for the Services Training team

What You’ll Need:

  • 7+ years or equivalent experience in one of the following fields:

    • Technical training lab development (infrastructure related)

    • DevOps/DevSecOps

    • Systems Administration/Engineering

    • Cloud Architecture

  • Enterprise domain experience in one or more of the following areas:

    • Windows Domain Administration

    • Public cloud platforms (AWS/GCP preferred)

    • Virtualized environments

  • Proficient in one or more scripting languages - PowerShell, Python, bash/zsh preferred

  • Experience with automation and configuration management (e.g. , Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt, Terraform)

  • Technical background in IT and/or cybersecurity with ability to get hands-on with products

  • Strong, clear verbal and written communication skills

  • Capable of completing tasks on time with minimal supervision

  • Desire to grow and expand both technical and soft skills

  • Project management skills

  • Ability to foster a positive work environment and attitude

Bonus Points:

  • AWS Certification (Developer, Architect, Sysops Administrator) - Associate level or higher

  • Experience or certification with Google Cloud Platform and/or Microsoft Azure

  • Experience utilizing/building CI/CD pipelines

  • Experience building development/QA or lab environments at scale

CrowdStrike, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary range for this position in the U.S. is $80,000 - $135,000 per year + variable/incentive compensation + equity + benefits. A candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
