Process Engineer - Utilities - APAC, AU, Broadmeadows, CSL Behring

The Role 

CSL Behring is looking for a Process Engineer to join the Utilities Department at our Broadmeadows site. Your primary role as part of the Utilities Department is to provide a reliable source of Utilities [available and cGMP quality compliant] to Manufacturing Operations.

NOTE – There are two positions available.

Reporting to the Process Engineer Manager, you will provide professional engineering services including engineering best practice on equipment selection, maintenance, operation, performance monitoring and improvement on our relevant systems [HVAC, pure water systems, pure steam, bulk reagents, gases and mechanical services].

Your Responsibilities 

• Build sound engineering solutions to improve the reliability and effectiveness of essential Utilities equipment.
• Implement continuous improvement programs through multiple processes (e.g. change controls, safety Corrective Actions and Preventative Actions [CAPAs]).
• Maintain compliance, operational running and process optimisation of important Utilities plants.
• Creation/optimisation of preventive maintenance programs.
• Maximise plant availability and support technical investigations and root cause analysis. This also includes managing/ supervising contractors during regular maintenance work, shutdowns and projects.
• Conduct in-depth investigation of important plant services deviations.
• Collaborate with all partners to ensure that new projects and equipment installation for the department will be a reliable source of Utilities [available and cGMP quality compliant] to the Manufacturing Operations.
• Providing rostered on call duties and Utilities Control Room support for a 24/7 operation with a hands-on approach including working with operational and maintenance staff to address issues as they arise.

Your skills and experience 

• Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical).
• 2+ years of Process Engineering experience. Siemens PCS 7 process control, mass & energy balancing and familiarity with computerised maintenance management systems will be highly regarded.
• You can demonstrate knowledge of plant diagnostic methods, reliability engineering and critical thinking abilities.
• You'll demonstrate experience with utilities plants including the maintenance and operation of the following: water purification, HVAC or mechanical services.
• Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or an allied industry will be highly valued (food, chemical, FMCG, automotive).
