This team is a leading supplier of powered cargo systems for commercial widebody aircraft and an innovative solutions provider for military aircraft, including the Collins Cargo On/Off Loading System (COOLS) for the Boeing CH-47 Chinook helicopter. This growth has created an opportunity for a Scheduling Professional like YOU! As an integral part of our Engineering Business Office, you will support our engineering projects, the future of our business, to ensure on-time and on-budget completion of both commercial and military aircraft solutions.

As a Scheduler, you will be responsible for development, maintenance and analysis of the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) – developing the network and integrated workflow of schedule activities to ensure an accurate, appropriate, and effective plan is established for the scope of work.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Collaborate with Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leads to develop an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) using MS Project for each program to support proposal pricing, program baseline development and periodic program statusing.
  • Work closely with Program Chiefs, Value Stream Leaders (VSLs), and Control Account Managers (CAMs) to ensure schedules and costs are accurate and comprehensive, and include milestones, deliverables, dependencies, predecessors, successors, lag time, and all other pertinent MS Project data
  • Perform analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of critical path, risk integration, IMS structure, and evaluate trends and schedule-related metrics
  • Review and implement IMS coding, outlining structures and adherence to directives and department scheduling best practices
  • Ensure the accuracy of project planning data that is used in the execution of projects and resource planning is up to date and accurate
  • Assist program management team with rolling wave planning
  • During program execution, provide periodic reporting to the IPT; create and generate standard reports and metrics and interpret them across functional boundaries
  • Use your strong analytical and problem-solving skills to facilitate a decision-making process
  • Meet periodically with Program Chief, VSL and CAMs to review project deadlines and activities; ensure Estimate to Complete (ETC) budgets and durations are properly reflected in the project schedule
  • Monitor and measure project progress, identify and work program-wide issues, and provide support to IPT with respect to budget impact analysis, including cost, schedule, and deliveries
  • Depending upon the size and complexity of the effort, this role will be either assisting the lead scheduler on a larger/more complex effort or responsible for smaller efforts

QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and a minimum 2 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 2 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 5 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62
  • Understanding of systems/project engineering concepts and practices
  • Experience utilizing MS Project or other scheduling tool(s)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint

QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER:

  • Experience in creating Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)
  • Understanding Earned Value Management Systems, project planning and scheduling, risk management, and program management
  • Aerospace experience

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
