Job Description:

Details of the role and how it fits into the team

The Midrange Engineer - SOA/BPM is responsible for managing or performing work across multiple areas of the bank's overall IT Platform/Infrastructure including analysis, development, and administration. It may also involve taking functional oversight of engineering delivery for specific departments. Work includes:

  • Planning and developing entire engineering solutions to accomplish business goals
  • Building reliability and resiliency into solutions with appropriate testing and reviewing throughout the delivery lifecycle
  • Ensuring maintainability and reusability of engineering solutions
  • Ensuring solutions are well architected and can be integrated successfully into the end-to-end business process flow
  • Reviewing engineering plans and quality to drive re-use and improve engineering capability
  • Participating in industry forums to drive adoption of innovative technologies, tools and solutions in the Bank.

Your key responsibilities

  • Solution Designing capability
  • Functional tests design
  • Integrate, deploy, maintain and improve SOA solutions
  • Actively participate into the squad activities and ceremonies e.g. daily/scrum meeting
  • Apply continuous integration best practices in general (SCM, build automation, unit testing, dependency management)
  • Collaborate with other squad members to achieve the Squad/Sprint objectives
  • Report progress/update Agile team management tools (JIRA/Confluence)
  • Manage task priorities and deliverables
  • Responsible for quality of solutions the he/she provides
  • Contribute to planning and continuous improvement activities,
  • Support the PO, Analyst and Scrum Master
  • Involved in the analysis of new projects, enhancements, and maintenance of a specific for a set of applications
  • IT Application Life Cycle standards are met in ongoing enhancements and maintenance
  • Application changes are aligned with the application strategy
  • Identification and management of risk and issues associated with the application
  • Maximum operational availability and stability
  • Cost efficiency

Your skills and experiences

  • Proficiency in working with global and local teams, working in a collaborative Agile environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of TIBCO, SOA principles and integration patterns.
  • Willingness and ability to learn and work with Java, J2EE, spring framework and Microservices in the future.
  • Excellent knowledge of Webservices (SOAP/REST), messaging (JMS/MQ), database (Oracle/MySQL, etc.), batch processing, security concepts, application servers, testing & debugging e2e.
  • DevOps and problem oriented mind-set.
  • Results-focused
  • Functional design, technical design and programming of new projects, enhancements, maintenance and troubleshooting of a specific set of applications, following IT Application Life Cycle standards aligned with technology strategy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (Spanish and English) with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Teamwork capacity with multidisciplinary teams
  • Leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to identify risks, resolve conflicts and plan tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
