Team / division overview

  • The investment market is changing rapidly, and asset managers need to adapt to the new demands on them and to the new opportunities it creates. To this regard, DWS is consolidating its data platforms into single, authoritative source of data across the entire firm.​ This includes a modern and digital user interface experience to allow seamless access to all data. The project will also provide “data content owners” with means to pro-actively and simply manage their reference data. APIs will be published to improve availability of data across DWS e.g., for data analysts and data scientists​, and to increase automation.
  • The area of program and project management is a central part of the Tech & Ops organization. This global function is responsible for delivery and reporting of all technology and operations projects within DWS. Each project manager within competency is responsible for stakeholder management and coordination of all project activities within his or her project portfolio.

Your key responsibilities

  • You will manage the technical implementation of our strategic initiatives / projects for the introduction of new products and solutions. 
  • Together with the internal stakeholders on the business side, prioritize and plan the backlogs and monitor the IT-budget.
  • Translate the business requirements of the DWS product division into technical requirements for IT implementations of products and solutions. 
  • Manage IT-implementation projects to create a single-sourced product reference data platform.
  • Organize and conduct steering committees, planning workshops, etc. (with internal stakeholders and service providers). 
  • Collaborating with colleagues from the COO and Product Division to analyze and compare different, innovative technology solutions. 
  • Support or prepare the selection of technology partners and their onboarding. 

Your skills and experience

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in delivering technology projects using agile methodologies within the finance industry.  
  • A good understanding of Asset Management business 
  • Passion for the implementation of new digital products and services within the finance industry. 
  • Able to demonstrate strong management skills including project management, financial management, change management and facilitation. 
  • Experience of successfully engaging management and groups of technical and non-technical stakeholders.  
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills in English and in an international and intercultural environment. 
  • Common office software and online collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence are part of your everyday life and are a matter of course. 
  • Active Project Management qualifications e.g., PMI, Prince2 are an advantage. 
  • Familiarity with modern key technologies including Cloud Computing and Data-as-a-Service are an advantage. 
  • High degree of initiative, an independent working style and pragmatic, hands-on attitude
