Gun Lake Family Medicine is looking for a physician to join their busy practice caring for patients across the generational spectrum.  Practice currently has 1 physician and 2 Advanced Practice Providers. 

Team-based care is supplemented with onsite RN, care managers, medical assistants working one-to-one with the physicians along with centralized social work, behavioral health, and pharmacy for consultation needs.  On site lab draws as well as x-ray and Physical Therapy.

Job Summary

The physician is responsible for the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of the health problems presented by the patients.

Essential Functions

  • Assesses and monitors the medical needs of patients/significant others.
  • Provides quality medical services to patients in a cost effective, appropriate manner and ensures coverage of case load at all times.
  • Provides input into the development of policies and procedures as they related to medical practice and quality patient care.
  • Provides oversight of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners and others providing delegated services to patients.
  • Evaluates patients'/significant others'/staff educational needs and develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies or delegates to appropriate resources.
  • Documents in a manner consistent with regulatory standards.
  • Communicates with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services. Acts as a patient/family advocate.
  • Participates in ongoing process improvement activities through the development/application of clinical paths, process improvement and other related activities.

    Actively works with Spectrum Health to meet financial and patient satisfaction goals.

Qualifications

  • Required Bachelor's Degree
  • LIC-Physician (MD) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or
  • LIC-Osteopathic Physician (DO) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • CRT-DEA Registration - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required Or
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 120 Days required
  • CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association If required by specialty or stress test performed 120 Days required
