Building Engineer applies engineering principles and techniques to optimize the facility in a manufacturing environment to meet organizational objectives. His/her works include ensuring proper installations, renovations and maintenance of facilities to minimize production delay

• Inspecting and maintaining: Inspecting and performing preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment
• Responding to emergencies: Responding to emergency maintenance requests
• Performing repairs: Performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks
• Monitoring equipment: Monitoring building equipment
• Preparing reports: Preparing reports and documents related to building maintenance and repairs
• Ensuring safety: Ensuring that the building meets all safety and health regulations
• Coordinating with contractors: Coordinating with outside vendors and contractors for maintenance and repair services
• Identifying causes of failure: Identifying causes of structural and/or building-related failure
• Providing solutions: Providing tangible solutions for repair/restoration of the subject failure
• Assessing building enclosures: Assessing building enclosures for failure, deficiency, and performance 
• Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish difficult assignments and provide innovative solutions.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• High school diploma or GED
• 4 years experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC trade including rooftop units 
• Knowledge of maintenance and operation of building automation, water treatment and fire life safety systems
• Good interpersonal and a positive team attitude
• Familiarity with computers and operations and office automation applications, including Microsoft Office
• Utilize CMMS systems such as Corrigo for all work performed
• Strong customer service orientation
• Ability to work independently as well as a strong team player
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Other duties and tasks assigned from time to time
• The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Be able to visually inspect machinery and buildings.
• Ability to frequently walk up and down stairs for inspections and emergency procedure • practice or implementation.
• Ability to climb ladders up or be on scissor lifts up to 40 feet
• Ability to detect emergency alarms - auditory and/or visual.
• Equipment inspections require getting on hands and knees to reach areas difficult to access
