Job Description:

Your new role

Here at Hitachi Rail, we have a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable/ Accounts Receivable Administrator to join our AP/AR division Office Based in Newton Aycliffe. As the AP/AR Administrator you will be responsible for the effective, efficient, and accurate financial and administrative operations in relation to P2P and billing processes.

• Review all invoices for appropriate 3 way matching and prepare batches of invoices for processing and address unmatched invoices
• Review non purchase order invoices ensuring correct nominal coding/approval in line with DOA
• Verify accuracy of postings to supplier accounts GL accounts and cost centres
• Manage all elements of supplier accounts, include:
  • Support the set-up and maintenance of supplier/Customer account master
  • Organise reconciliation of supplier statements, research and correct discrepancies
  • Reconcile processed work by verifying entries
• Deal with supplier account queries in timely manner and maintain good working relationship with both internal and external stakeholders.  
• Analyse reasons for invoice queries and work to streamline the internal P2P process with interacting other departments.
• Assist with cleansing requirement within P2P process
• Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
• Support AR process as required
• Ad-hoc duties to support the finance department as required

About you

• Previous experience of AP processes with SAP or ERP system
• Experience with a manufacturing and/or project based company
• Exposure to high volumes of purchase invoices
• Detail oriented, professional attitude and reliable
• Possess strong organizational and time management skills
• Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable systems and procedures

• A solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
