About the Opportunity:

St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba is the largest acute private hospital on the Darling Downs. We are a 189-bed facility with highly experienced and skilled staff that work as a team to deliver the highest standard of healthcare to all our patients. Our services include medical, surgical, maternity, paediatric, emergency, cardiac and rehabilitation. We are supported by comprehensive allied health services and advanced medical and diagnostic services. Pathology, radiology and pharmacy are also available on site, and our emergency department is open 24 hours, seven days a week.

As the Clinical Documentation Specialist, you will support and ultimately enhance the provision of patient centred care at St. Vincent's Private Hospital Toowoomba according to the Philosophy and Code of Conduct of St Vincent’s Health Australia.  The Clinical Documentation Specialist (CDIS) is responsible for improving overall the quality and completeness of the medical record.

  • Registered with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) as a  Registered Nurse

  • Ability to maintain collaborative and effective relationships with all multidisciplinary team members

  • Strong commitment to improving the quality of clinical documentation.

  • Ability to work flexibly within the Facility service

  • Ability to participate in and support education activities and to contribute to the development of self and other team members

  • Have a working knowledge and understanding of relevant regulations and legislation

  • Have knowledge of the different funding models and applications of PHI contracts in regards to coding, DRGs and the impact of these, in relation to documentation.
