Department Overview

The Infrastructure System Test Tools team (ISTT) within Motorola Solutions is responsible for development of simulators of public safety communication system components. The simulators are used by product teams to execute functional and performance system level tests and tests automation.


Job Description

In a mixed software engineer / lab administrator (~80%/20% split) role you will be responsible for End To End software creation process and lab maintenance, it includes:

  • as a software engineer:

    • design, develop, test and maintain testing software

    • cooperation with external teams to integrate our solutions with test environments

    • providing support to external teams using our solutions

    • as a role expansion: requirements analysis, scope definition

  • as a lab administrator:

    • manage and maintain lab equipment

    • manage and maintain our internal testing environments to enable ISTT development teams to execute integration tests of our simulators

    • troubleshoot of lab hardware and software issues

    • planning future lab needs and expansions


Basic Requirements

  • technology: we use a wide variety of technologies and can be flexible to choose between: C#, Java, node.js, HTML/CSS/Angular

  • knowledge of designing multithreaded and distributed systems

  • knowledge of IP networks (devices, protocols)

  • Windows / linux knowledge from an administrative perspective

  • written and verbal communication in English

  • Availability 24 hours per week (minimum).

  • At least one year cooperation

  • Nice to have first experience in commercial projects

  • Availability to work in our office in Kraków (Czerwone Maki 82)

Preferred skills (not required, but nice to have)

  • Jenkins

  • GIT

  • Docker / Kubernetes (configuration, deployment)

  • ELK stack

  • experience in working with SCRUM practices
