Job Description:

Who are we?

An excellent opportunity for a creative and motivated student to be part of Intel's Performance-Core Group, doing exciting work in the development of next-generation P-Core CPU.

Intel's P-Core group is one of the most important domains with a large impact on Intel's CPU products and corporate profits. Core technology is highly evolving with a huge number of technologies being developed. Verification and validation ensure the development correctness of the product before it is shipped to production.

You will join Intel's Core group to work on a pioneering project, aimed at optimizing Intel's core performance using cutting-edge power-management firmware.

What are we looking for?

Intel's P-Core group is looking for a Firmware (FW) Verification and Validation student to define, design, code (C++, Python), run, and analyze a validation and verification environment, tests, and tools for the innovative core PTP (Power/Thermal/Performance) manager firmware using advanced firmware/software engineering methodologies.

The job also includes modeling the embedded system with its components for functional validation, power evaluation, performance enhancements, and algorithm optimization. The expectation is to work through the entire firmware development cycle - from Pre-Si activities (simulation, emulation) to Post-Si activities (board bring-up).

Modeling of the hardware components is done in C++ using systemC, while the test environment is written in Python.

Responsibilities:

Coding the required hardware models, test environment components, and firmware validation tests, while integrating into existing and new Intel platforms and tool chain. Various verification/validation techniques are used, such as simulation and emulation, while offering a unique hardware-software experience. In addition to various tools, languages, and validation methodologies, students will develop expertise with Intel Architecture and Micro Architecture and will be involved in the process of defining new Intel features.

They are expected to be independent, and creative, with the ability to innovate new solutions and demonstrate uncompromised quality during their work.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree student in Electrical / Computer Engineering with at least 3 semesters till graduation OR Bachelor's degree student in Electrical / Computer Engineering with 3-4 semesters till graduation.
  • An ability to work at least 27 hours a week (3 full days in regular business hours) with a hybrid model.
  • Good communication skills among groups inside and outside of Israel
  • Fast learner

Additional qualifications would be an added advantage:

  • Experience in firmware/hardware verification and validation
  • Experience in the development of firmware/hardware development environment with code/functional coverage.
  • Experience in firmware validation concepts and methodologies
  • Experience in real-time/embedded firmware development and/or very-large-scale-integration (VLSI) hardware design
  • Experience in OOP/OOD in C++ and/or Python
  • Familiarity with CPU architecture.
