Perform various metal finishing operations on a variety of parts to maintain flow of work while practicing and complying with environmental, health and safety directions and procedures.

What You Will Do

  • Perform work in accordance with various instructions such as inspection standards, blueprints, technical orders, service bulletins, manufacturing procedures, sales orders and other written and verbal instructions within established methods and procedures.
  • Ensure that all documentation such as specifications, procedures and forms and applicable tools, gages and fixtures are quality compliant and traceable.
  • Determine set-up and operation of equipment, sequence of operations and masking and fixturing requirements to insure finish of required areas.
  • Perform a variety of plating operations including cadmium, chrome and nickel.
  • Perform duties associated with preparation, stripping or plating operations of various parts.
  • Clean and degrease parts as required; may require grit blast sanding, stoning or chemical stripping.
  • Determine stress relief requirements and operate ovens and furnaces as required.
  • Utilize measuring equipment such as micrometers and magna gages to perform required checks.
  • Compute and mix solutions to meet specification; analyze, maintain and purify solutions as required; add chemicals and/or solutions and check with PH test paper.
  • Prepare test panels and send samples of solutions for analysis by laboratory.
  • Clean tanks and filters as required.
  • May be required to operate power industrial truck.
  • Operate computer terminals to retrieve, enter or verify information.
  • Obtain, move and expedite units, parts and materials within shop to support operations.
  • Perform and maintain point of use inventory.
  • Participate in chemical spill clean-up activity.
  • Prepare, maintain and monitor all necessary records including route sheets, schedules and log sheets.
  • Verify work performed.
  • Improve process and solve problems in cooperation with fellow employees and supervision.
  • Perform minor and preventive maintenance such as checking fluids levels, lubricating fittings, cleaning or replacing filters, replacing bulbs and tightening fittings and/or hardware.
  • Instruct one or two fellow employees in proper performance of duties.
  • Keep equipment and surroundings neat, clean and organized.
  • Perform related duties as required within the scope of this job function.
  • Position is working;: 2nd Shift 3:30 pm – 12:00 am Monday – Friday, after completing training
  • Training will be on 1st shift for ~6 months.

What You Will Learn

  • Gained experience in certifications in the NDT.
  • Cross-functional collaboration through various types of manufacturing and processes.
  • Learn the magnetic particle inspection.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • 6-9 months of related experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with measuring equipment such as micrometers and scales
  • Experience reading gages such as ammeter, voltmeter, map gage
  • Experience in the manufacturing environment.
  • Previous certification Level 1 an any of the following disciplines: PT, MT
  • Associate Degree in Nondestructive Testing Technology
  • Experience to perform mathematical calculations (add and subtract decimals)
  • Experience reading engineering prints

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. 

This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines.  Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA’s regulation 14 SFT part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.

The salary range for this role $32.65 - $41.04 per hour; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
