Raytheon’s Electrical Engineering Center has an opening for a Principal Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit (MMIC) Test Engineer to join the MMIC Design & Test Section in the Microelectronics Department.

Engineers working in the MMIC Design & Test Section will be responsible for collaborating with Design Engineers to characterize performance of MMICs in development.  Engineers are expected to develop test benches to accommodate each device’s verification test plans, verify the bench’s integrity (validation of the calibration and / or data fidelity), store the data, and communicate regularly with others on the team regarding progress or issues.  Due to the nature of development, troubleshooting test benches or performance shortfalls requires working closely with the design engineers to understand the issues, helping to identify root cause, and finding the path forward.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop and setup test benches to fulfill test plan objectives.

  • Calibrate or verify bench’s integrity to ensure accurate RF measurements.

  • Collect data as documented in Test Plan.

  • Work with the team to troubleshoot issues with test set, measurements, or Device Under Test (DUT).

  • This role is 100% on-site and based in McKinney, TX.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years' of prior work experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years' of prior work experience.

  • 8+ years’ experience in testing semiconductors and microwave components.

  • Experience performing RF microwave and/or millimeter-wave tests in the laboratory.

  • Experience using vector network analyzers, digital multi-meters, signal generators, power supplies, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, performing RF calibrations, and use of other microwave test equipment such as couplers, attenuators, loads and isolators.

  • Experience with S-parameters, large-signal measurements, linearity, noise-figure, source and load pull, and performance of basic troubleshooting in all of these areas.

  • Experience with reading and interpreting schematics and technical drawings.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Experience working independently and within a team environment & the desire the collaborate with Design Engineers.

  • Experience working multiple tasks in parallel.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.

  • Experience with software programming (e.g., C, C++, and/or Visual Basic).

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
