Intel New Mexico has many exciting opportunities for growth at our manufacturing facility. Whether you're looking for a part-time or full-time commitment (minimum 20 hours per week), our year-round student program is designed to complement your full-time academic endeavors, all while working at our dynamic Rio Rancho campus. This position offers flexible work options such as onsite, hybrid and/or remote during school semesters, however, students are required to be onsite during the summer.

Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:

  • Planning manufacturing layout of factory floor.

  • Determining the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow.

  • Establishing methods for maximum utilization of production tools and personnel.

  • Developing metrics to measure equipment, factory capacity and output, while identifying bottlenecks.

  • Establish and assist in establishing training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations.

  • Conducting studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.

  • Performing metric validations, data extractions and actuals vs goal metric reporting to propose accurate modeling metrics forecast.

  • Able to summarize information, actions required and be owner of tracking action closure.

Qualifications:

Candidate must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of schoolwork/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or related field.

  • 3+ months experience with manufacturing science, data analysis, and project/program management

  • 3+ months experience with one or more data analytical tools such as MS Excel, JMP, MiniTab, or SQL Pathfinder with basic understanding of data structures/query fundamentals and experience with scripting languages

  • Academic excellence with a maintained minimum 3.0 GPA.


Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in data extraction and analysis with tools such as R, Python, SQL, C, or C++

  • Experience/knowledge in operations research including theory of constraints, supply chain management and factory physics.

  • Optimization and Simulation skills

  • Financial/cost/ROI analysis

  • Strong statistics knowledge and application

  • Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies and applications
