Job Summary

An effective Sr. Product Owner (PO) has a significant role in maximizing the value produced by the agile team and ensuring stories meet the user's needs and comply with the Definition of Done. The Sr. Product Owner is responsible for the roadmap, iteration execution, program execution, participation in inspect and adapt event as well as authority for the team backlog.

This role has significant relationships and responsibilities outside the agile team, including working with Product Management, Customers, Business Owners, and other stakeholders.

The digital product will focus on the Consumer Relationship Management (CRM) product.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with their agile team(s) to create objectives for each 10 week program increment and be responsible for meeting those objectives with the team.
  • Convey the vision and goals to their team for each new feature prioritized.
  • Attend all regularly scheduled ceremonies as part of the teams Agile ceremonies, including but not limited to Iteration planning, Iteration demos, system demos, retrospectives, and program increment planning events.
  • Write detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, diagrams, and other documentation to facilitate technical development.
  • Responsible for the end-state product/property experiences.
  • Rally cross-functional teams around business objectives and goals.
  • Grooming the team backlog and prioritizing work efforts.
  • Communicate status and progress externally to business and operation leadership Regularly provides guidance and training to less experienced Product Owners.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • 5 years of relevant experience 5+ years of experience typically gained through;
    ◦ product management or multi-team product ownership experience.
    ◦ using lean and/or agile approaches to develop solutions.
    ◦ leading strategy.
    ◦ building relationships with diverse stakeholders both inside and outside of the company.
    ◦ working with IT team(s) to deliver large, cross domain technology solutions.
    ◦ identifying and tracking key performance indicators (KPI’s) for large projects.
    ◦ working with software development ticketing software like JIRA, Rally, Pivotal Tracker, etc.
     

Preferred

  • Master's Degree or equivalent
  • 7 years of relevant experience Product Ownership
  • 7 years of relevant experience Experienced using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • 7 years of relevant experience Formal or informal Leadership
  • 7 years of relevant experience Experience in a Large organization in similar size and complexity to Corewell Health.
