Nursing on the 32-bed couplet care Mother-Baby Unit at Beaumont, Dearborn will offer you a fast-paced, challenging career. With an average of 4300 deliveries a year, our unit provides compassionate, patient family centered care to our families. You will enjoy working with our professional, multidisciplinary staff consisting of nurses, lactation consultants, educators, social worker and other dedicated personnel.

Scope of work
The Lactation Consultant functions as a member of the health care team by providing patient and family education, acting as a consultant and resource for the medical and nursing staff, and by serving as a community resource for breast feeding related care throughout the organization, not just in Maternal Child Health. The Lactation Consultant uses specific age and culture-related physical, intellectual, psychosocial, and developmental attributes in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for breast feeding patients.

Qualifications
- Required Associate's Degree Associate’s degree in nursing
- Preferred Bachelor's Degree Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- 2 years of relevant experience. 2 years of recent maternal child experience. Required
- LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
- CLC required at time of hire. CRT-Board Cert Lactation Consultant (BC-IBCLC) - IBCLCE International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners required within 2 Yrs
- AHA, ARC, or Canadian Heart and Stroke Basic Life Support (BLS) Required upon hire
