Job Description:

Position Title: Technical Officer - Cytology (Anatomical Pathology)

Employment Type: Maximum Term Full Time ( 2 Years)

Hours per week: 38 Hours

Position Grade: Technical Officer - Grade 1 to 2 (Year 1-8) & (Year 1-4)

Salary: $ 63,725.98 to $ 91,786.58 base salary per annum

Enterprise Agreement: The Named NSW (Non-Declared) Affiliated Health Organisations’ Health Employees Agreement 2019

About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic laboratory team who works together to provide quality care to clients and patients of SydPath, Anatomical Pathology. We are recruiting for a passionate, dynamic, skilled and committed Technical Officer in Cytology to join our team. We are seeking those with the motivation to learn, develop and contribute to all areas of the SydPath Anatomical Pathology service.

About you:

We welcome applications from people who have at least 1 year’s recent experience in Pathology with excellent organisational, time management and attention to detail skills. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working in an agile work environment. You will need to be organised, have a passion for supporting and being part of a great team culture and have a collaborative personality.

Selection Criteria:

1.    Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.
2.    Associate Diploma in health Sciences (Pathology) Techniques or equivalent
3.    Ability to follow defined protocols and procedures with excellent communication skills and an eye for detail.
4.    Demonstrate an ability in the use and maintenance of equipment within Cytology and Histology.
5.    Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
6.    Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills and experience with the use of a laboratory information system.
7.    Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
8.    Demonstrated experience and knowledge of quality improvement, accreditation and WHS requirements.
