Job Summary
Utilizing analytical and accounting skills to support the Medical Group Financial Planning and Analysis team and service lines. Overall support of our Medical Group, with an initial focus on month-end, reporting, and supporting senior analysts, growing to support operational leadership for specific service lines.
Essential Functions
- Performs month-end close accounting responsibilities focusing on the Medical Group and specific service lines. These duties include, but are not limited to preparing journal entries, analyzing general ledger activity, and compiling reports for others to use.
- Prepare monthly and trend reports for tracking financial and operational metrics.
- Support team of Senior Analysts with reporting, data extracts, and reviews.
- Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
- Identify and drive improvements, utilizing standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and dashboards
- Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements

- Serves as a consultant to assigned areas of the organization to support the financial goals and objectives of Corewell Health.

Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree Accounting, finance, business administration, economics, statistics or related field
- 2 - 3 years of relevant experience Finance, accounting or healthcare related work
Preferred
- Master's Degree Business or finance
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - State of Michigan
- Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) HFMA Certification
