The Pharmacy Department provides pharmacy services for Inpatients, ED, Surgery, and the Infusion Center at Corewell Health Zeeland Hospital.

Scope of Work
The Pharmacy Technician, under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist, processes, prepares, and delivers medications and supplies, working with multiple medication automation systems. The Pharmacy Technician works in complex pharmacy areas, including Sterile Product Compounding, Controlled Substance Handling, and Inventory Management.

- Prepares supplies / medication, including complex sterile formulations under the direction of a Pharmacist. May prepare hazardous or biologic products when properly trained and competencies are passed.
- Prepares and packages bulk medications into unit of use packaging.
- Handles controlled substances for pharmacy and patient care areas under direct supervision of a pharmacist per federal and state law.
- Delivers pharmacy prepared medications, controlled substances and supplies to various nursing stations/patient care areas.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Maintains all requirements for CPhT certifications. Completes all Spectrum Health assigned competencies by assigned due dates.
- Required High School Diploma or equivalent
- Preferred Associate's Degree
- Hospital experience Preferred
- LIC-Pharmacy Technician Temp - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or
- LIC-Pharmacy Technician - STATE_MI State of Michigan 90 Days required Or
- LIC-Pharmacist Intern - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
- CRT-Pharmacy Technician, Certified (CPHT) - PTCB Pharmacy Technician Certification Board 90 Days required Or
- CRT-Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) - NHA National Healthcareer Association 90 Days required
- Ideal candidate will possess Full Pharmacy Technician License and/or National Certification, such as PTCB as well as Inpatient Pharmacy experience
- Will consider Retail and other Pharmacy experience as well
- Schedule will be within Monday to Friday between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
- Every 4th Weekend between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
