To help EMEA Environmental Business team to conceive, test, and build new digital platforms delivering green solutions applicable in energy, mobility and industrial sectors by combining work from multiple disciplines: User Research, Design, Usability, and Design Thinking.

  • Drive the end-to-end UX/UI design process for new digital platforms applicable to “New Business Innovation” (NBI).

  • Work under the project management leadership of NBI project leaders (part of EMEA EBD team)

  • Ensure engagement and inclusion of all key stakeholders, including internal (Region, BU, ..) and external parties (startups, partner companies, clients,..)

 

What you’ll be doing

 

The role will also be responsible for:

 

The process begins with customer development research, moves through the brainstorming process, and continues with rapid product iteration. Each incubation is focused on helping the NBI project teams define a platform solution concept, vision, and roadmap that Hitachi can build a business around. The UX Designer/Researcher helps keep the customer in the center throughout the incubation process.

You will bring knowledge of applying design thinking methods in the service of conceiving, validating and building products, including:

User Research: you will bring solid skills in conducting interviews, note-taking, deriving insight and clearly presenting findings. Over time, you will master script creation, scenario development, qualitative test strategy and persona development.

UX: you will understand Information Architecture and methods for organizing complex and diverse types of content, and methods for visualizing the customer context, customer journeys etc.

UI: you will be able to wireframe and prototype at various levels of fidelity.

Visual Design: you will bring a good understanding of visual hierarchy, grid systems, and typography.

Presentation design: you will be able to design compelling presentations and pitch decks that tell stories, communicating boldly and clearly.

You will have fluency in design programs such as Adobe creative cloud, Sketch, Balsamic, Invision, Keynote, PowerPoint:

What you bring to the team 

 

We’re looking for a team player, who is motivated by delivering great work and the Hitachi vision. The role will be a mixture of remote-hybrid work with days in the Hitachi Office.

 

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and background:

  • Bachelor's Degree and / or Masters in an area such as Finance, Business Administration, Sustainability Strategy, Technology & Information Management or equivalent

  • 4+ years of professional experience, either or both in strategy and/or management support. Experience with startups is a plus.

  • Ability to support unit operation with impeccable inter-personal and reporting skills.

  • Versed into strategic analysis and taste for startup and corporate venture environment.

  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and inquisitive.

  • Extremely organized, inclination for structure and strong time-management skills

  • Experience of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Ability to understand big picture and to break-down into smaller operational pieces.

  • Works well under pressure.

  • Confident and credible communication skills: ability to foster collaboration across the unit and with external stakeholders.

  • Ability and taste to synthetize large amount of information into clear and crisp messages, presentation skills.

  • Fluency in English, a second European language is a plus

 

This role reports to Head of EMEA – Environmental Business Division and is opened in UK, Switzerland and Italy
