In conjunction with the Global Client Manager, this role will be responsible for developing and delivering the long-term travel technology strategy, translating this strategy into concrete business plans which deliver process efficiency, service enhancements and an improved user experience.

The Global Technology Manager will be required to partner with HSBC to understand and agree technical and service goals and work with internal AMEX GBT teams including NEO to provide suitable solutions to deliver on the joint strategy and goals.

The role will require strong process orientation, thought leadership and a collaborative approach to building and leveraging strong customer and internal relationships. The Global Technology Manager will have a strong understanding of tools and processes across all regions and they will leverage this knowledge to develop and deliver global operating consistency, where appropriate.


The Global Technology Manager will also work with the Dedicated Account Representative to provide country, regional, global and functional reporting to continuously improve adoption and present opportunities to the HSBC travel team and Travel & Expenses Product Lead.

Accountabilities:

  • Proactively drive continuous improvements in the performance / functionality of the key technology systems
  • A biannual health check audit to be undertaken on Neo in major markets, all declining/sub optimal online adoption markets and all solo OBT’s.
  • Monthly meetings with Global Travel Lead and Travel Product manager to report the contracted technology is operating optimally.
  • Quarterly meetings with Global Travel Lead and Travel Product manager to report the contracted technology roadmap + customer feedback.
  • Global understanding of AMEX GBT proprietary technology (including NEO and partner OBT’s and how to maximise configuration to meet HSBC functional requirements e.g. Profile management
  • Support the ongoing management of the critical travel technology tools for the client programme, this includes but is not limited to SSO process management, HR feed integration, ongoing site maintenance, promotion of new functionality within the online tools and AMEX GBT mobile app
  • Participate and support local countries with incremental technology deployments for the client, bringing learnings from previous deployments and mitigating challenges as each country develops their individual launch plans
  • Provide training and learning resources for both client associates and AMEX GBT teams supporting the relationship
  • Support remediation on profile sync issues and IT issue case management reported by HSBC with timely resolutions to reported issues and report monthly
  • Proactive reviews on data/profiles work with operations teams to ensure synchronization between offline and online processes to ensure data capture is consistently aligned across both.

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of global travel operations, suppliers and GDS.
  • Global understanding of AMEX GBT proprietary technology including NEO is an advantage
  • Ability to drive online adoption through product optimization
  • Highly developed project and change management skills
  • Strong analytical thinker combined with written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven experience relating to the creation and delivery of business process strategies for large global clients
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully across cultures and regions and the ability to work with cross-functional teams and to influence both internally and externally.
  • Confident approach to presentations, client and internal meetings
  • Strong PC knowledge including related PowerPoint/Excel/ Microsoft Project/email skills
