Our Company

Changing the world through digital experiences is what Adobe’s all about. We give everyone—from emerging artists to global brands—everything they need to design and deliver exceptional digital experiences! We’re passionate about empowering people to create beautiful and powerful images, videos, and apps, and transform how companies interact with customers across every screen.

We’re on a mission to hire the very best and are committed to creating exceptional employee experiences where everyone is respected and has access to equal opportunity. We realize that new ideas can come from everywhere in the organization, and we know the next big idea could be yours!

Senior Designer, Photoshop • Android

Are you excited about creativity and the future of creative tools? At Adobe, we strive to empower creativity for all with powerful software for use in digital imaging, filmmaking, illustration, and more. From the small details to big-picture feature concepts and long-term strategy, our work is put to test by millions of artists and agencies. We seek to enable creativity for more people in more places, every day. This is your chance to define creative tools for creative people, just like you!

Adobe Design, our nearly 400-person product design group, is looking for a dedicated Senior Designer to join the Photoshop team. We work closely with business, marketing, engineering, and research to deeply understand customer needs and deliver the industry standard in tools for print and digital media. We’re seeking a designer who thinks holistically and uses modern tools to evaluate concepts quickly. One who favours interactive prototypes over flat mock-ups, and is willing to engage in both exploration of concepts and refinement of details. One with an inquisitive personality and the dream to evolve, craft and build for the future.

What you’ll be working on

As a key member on the Photoshop design team, you'll be an integral part of exploring and influencing the next generation of Adobe's creative tools. Together, we are forging a new class of experience standards for mobile products — as well as desktop and web products — for years to come.

You will (among other things):

  • Be a passionate collaborator. Partner with the product and marketing teams to deliver targeted, user-centered, on-brand experiences. Collect and act on feedback from fellow designers, cross-functional partners, product developers, researchers, and users.
  • Be flexible. Is your ideal design process iterative and high velocity? You will work on multiple workstreams at the same time, with timelines ranging from a few weeks to a few months.
  • Approach problems holistically. Understand the demographics, needs, and behaviors of people who use Photoshop by exploring our broad range of quantitative and qualitative research. Solve for both business and consumer needs.
  • Embrace empathy. Above all, serve as an advocate for the individuals who use our apps! Ideate and design with a user-centered, research-led approach. Follow through on delivering a high quality experience for our test audience — even on projects with fast turnaround times.

What you’ll bring to the team

Must-Haves

  • A minimum of 5 years of industry experience in product design with a proven track record of success
  • Experience (and a love of!) solving complex design and technology problems using systems thinking
  • Proficiency in Figma as well as Adobe Xd, Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, or similar product design programs
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate a multi-level problem space and strategy behind design decisions
  • Experience establishing user experience patterns on mobile/tablet devices, especially Android
  • Passion for understanding how creative people do what they do and how technology plays a role in the creative process
  • Creative and analytical skills to advocate for and support research, synthesize, and communicate insights that encourage design opportunities and product strategy
  • Experience working with existing research, conducting your own research, presenting results, and acting on those results

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience designing for professional creative applications (imaging, video, design, etc.)
  • Experience crafting user interactions for automation and features driven by machine learning and artificial intelligence

How to apply

To be considered for this role please submit a resume and online portfolio with examples of your product/experience design work. We are particularly interested in your process. It is very effective to include case studies that show off the evolution of your work. Early sketches, nixed ideas or challenges overcome are all encouraged artifacts. The journey is just as important as an extraordinary finished product.
