About the Role:

As a Student Programmer at CrowdStrike with a language focus, you will be part of the team that ensures the LQL (LogScale Query Language) parses into an easily usable AST (Abstract Syntax Tree), which can then be manipulated and executed. You will work a little with the language, and a lot with the runtime and execution of the language.

You will be working with the team and have several people to lean on, but will also be expected to be able to work autonomously for shorter periods of time, once introduced to the language.

Part time - working 2-3 days per week in Aarhus office (20 hours per week)

What You'll Do:

  • Learn, understand and work with LQL

  • Make minor modifications to the language, ensuring to check for backwards compatibility, and writing/updating necessary parsers

  • Understand our map-reduce pipeline, including aggregating and non-aggregating functions

  • Build, test and release new functions

  • Write test cases for parts of the LQL parsing

  • Create pull requests, receive feedback, and act on it

  • Participate in standups and other team meetings

What You’ll Need:

  • Currently enrolled in university and in your penultimate year studying a degree in Computer Science or a related field.

  • Object oriented programming language experience

  • Some knowledge of functional programming (desirable)

Technologies in LogScale:

  • Scala

  • Bazel

  • IntelliJ IDEA
