Summary:

The Delivery Driver is responsible for picking up and transporting components and materials safely to specific locations. A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company and the capability of working in a team environment are necessary for this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carries an active Class A license in the State of Colorado
  • Makes deliveries utilizing a Class A vehicle and 52’ flatbed trailer
  • Unloads materials utilizing a Piggyback type of trailer mounted lift
  • Ensures all materials picked up from factory are documented on delivery tickets and delivered to jobsites
  • All deliveries are documented per policy, photos of delivered materials are properly captured and uploaded to BisTrack
  • Ensures proper storage, transportation, and handling of all materials to protect from damage
  • Follows all traffic laws and safety requirements
  • Limits time on site to no more than an hour. If you are going to be on site longer, you are required to notify your supervisor as soon as possible. (With the exception of first runs due to curfew times, but at 7:00 AM you should be starting to offload.) The time in the yard should be limited to no more than 45 minutes unless you are taking your lunch break.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to the quality improvement process and the philosophy of continuous improvement; identify and respond actively and with sensitivity to the needs of all customers; participates as a team player in all phases of the organization; and is open and responsive to change
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures
  • Follows all DOT regulations
  • Secures loads
  • Follows all state guidelines and protocols
  • Other duties as assigned within the reasonable scope of role responsibilities

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Knowledge of common building materials used in residential, multi-family and commercial construction
  • Valid CLASS A commercial driver’s license and current medical card with a clean MVR
  • Attention to detail, takes pride in quality of work
  • Efficient and able to complete assignments within a given deadline
  • Strong team work ethic
  • Communicates effectively with team members
  • Minimum 12 consecutive months within the last 36 months of current and verifiable tractor trailer experience
  • Drivers with less than twelve months but more than 6 consecutive months (from the date of application) of current and verifiable oversized and/or mobile home hauling experience may be considered:

a. Must be approved by the VP of Transportation

b. Must complete an extended on the job training period

c. Training schedule will be directed by the Safety Manager
