Job Description Summary

Under general supervision of the Nursing Technology Center Director in the College of Nursing, the Curriculum Coordinator II provides expertise and knowledge on various pedagogical approaches and best practice to support the online and hybrid course delivery. The Curriculum Coordinator II will also support the appropriate use of online learning technologies/techniques to ensure the online curriculum meets the pedagogical goals, align with best practices, and is accessible to fulfill various learning needs.

Job Description

MUSC Minimum Training and Experience Requirements:

A master's degree in Education, Instructional/Educational Technology, Learning Science or another directly related field, and 2-years’ of professional experience in instructional design, curriculum development, and accessibility best practices.
 

Preferred Experience:

Formal training and proven work experience in instructional design and working with educational technology is preferred (i.e. D2L Brightspace, Panopto, ExamSoft). Experience that demonstrates knowledge of legislative and industry-based standards such as the W3C/Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), the Americans with Disabilities Act, and Sections 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.

•    Ability to independently plan and manage instructional design projects.
•    Ability to apply educational theory and skills in online and face to face teaching environments.
•    Flexibility-ability to adjust modality and identify technological tools and supportive applications based on audience or program.
•    Ability to effectively use interpersonal and communications skills for various audiences.
•    Ability to effectively use organizational and planning skills.
•    Ability to research and analyze complex information.
•    Maintain confidentiality of work-related information and materials.
•    Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to include proofreading with a detailed eye and low tolerance for grammatical errors.

Employee must be self-directed and have the ability to work independently. This is highly visible, independent position within the College of Nursing and must have the ability to communicate effectively and timely with all faculty, students, and staff.
