Our Raytheon Advanced Open Integrated Solutions (AOIS) Engineering Team has an immediate opportunity for a Principal Systems Engineer to join a dynamic systems engineering team supporting an electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) first time production effort.  This critical role will allow you the opportunity to lead teams in the production, test, and delivery of new products to our customers.

This is an Onsite role in McKinney, Texas

What You Will Do

  • You will provide technical systems engineering oversight of supplier designs and assisting in transition to production activities.
  • Develop factory test procedures and assist in defining test verticality and automation functionality.
  • Manage and track engineering factory support budget and CAM activities.
  • Maintain / manage external and internal specifications and VCRM (Verification Cross Reference Matrix) in DOORS.
  • Oversee diverse tasks, requirements and commitments and will interface successfully with numerous disciplines.
  • Communicate across all engineering disciplines and with non-technical stake holders.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related STEM degree and eight (8) years or more of documented work in the following areas:
    • Electro – Optical and Infrared (EO/IR) engineering experience
    • Experience with the Systems Engineering lifecycle
    • Experience with agile frameworks and methodologies
    • Experience in production/test environments
    • Experience working with suppliers
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with airborne EO sensor applications.
  • Experience with EO and Electro-mechanical design.
  • Operations/factory support of assembly and first time build and test.
  • Process improvement and value stream mapping.
  • Experience overseeing Agile programs with custom hardware.
  • Jira and Confluence toolsets.
  • Experience with the technical review and approval of proposals and Gates to ensure technical and execution feasibility.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
