Job Description

The Role (Job Overview)

Single point of contact, and provider of daily support for all things Electrical on our GMC Sierra and Chevy Silverado Trucks. This includes wiring, software, and module related defects as well as supporting Plant Trial Runs. This role will work directly with our Product Engineers, Suppliers, and plant floor Team Members.  for items that are impacting the assembly plant from a given department.  This position’s primary goal is to reduce warranty claims and increase our Electrical First Time Quality through effective problem solving.  

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

  • Communicate across all departments (E-mail, voicemail, text, calls, IM, Teams)
  • Support Global Customer Audits to improve Electrical sufficiency
  • Support all Electrical Bill of Operation elements
  • Improve processes to support Electrical First-time Quality pant and corporate targets
  • Attend Daily Quality Meetings and present as needed
  • Work with wiring and module DRE’s on problem solving related to changes
  • Work on continuous improvement (warranty, suggestions, PRTS)
  • Support General Assembly repair on electrical diagnostics and root cause analysis
  • Utilize 3D math data to verify measurements
  • Review Engineering Changes, conduct Plant Trial Runs, support changes and their implementation  
  • Communicate and work with Salary Group Leaders, UAW Team Leaders, and UAW Team Members on the plant floor about issues that arise

Additional Job Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 3yrs in a production manufacturing environment
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills with capability to identify and implement solutions
  • Able to make decisions quickly with a high level of confidence
  • Must be able to continually innovate

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • 5 yrs. prior manufacturing experience in either Electrical, Quality, or Plant Floor Operations
  • GSIP - Quality system knowledge of processes in GM manufacturing
  • Thorough working knowledge of GMS as well supporting BIQ4 Deliverables
  • Advanced Problem-Solving skills
