About the Role


You will fulfil the roles and responsibilities of an experienced pharmacy technician demonstrating expert knowledge and skills.

They are an active member of the pharmacy team who assists pharmacists with the delivery of pharmacy service with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.

The role involves:

  • Satellite pharmacy and dispensary work
  • Aseptic service including cytotoxic, biohazard and sterile preparations
  • Imprest stocking and maintenance
  • PBS claims
  • Assist with the Education and training of new pharmacy technicians


Classifications for this position is TH10 ($64,454 pro rata per annum).

Your Contribution

  • Hold a certificate IV in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy support (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of three years full time experience as a pharmacy technician
  • Ability to work within established procedures or in specialised areas with a high degree of autonomy and accountability
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English
  • Excellent computer literacy and skills
  • Peter MacCallum aseptic cytotoxic preparation course completion is desirable

About Pharmacy
St Vincent's Hospital Pharmacy Department pharmacy services are decentralised, providing services from several satellite pharmacies in patient treatment areas.

We offer pharmacy services to inpatients, outpatients and correctional facilities.

As part of the pharmacy support team, pharmacy technicians support pharmacists in their work within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment that delivers care in a patient-focused manner.
