Job Description:

Grade 2 Allied Health Assistant

About the Role

An opportunity currently exists for an Allied Health Assistant to join the Physiotherapy team. This position is responsible for assisting physiotherapists to provide high quality clinical management of patients in the sub-acute units at St George’s Hospital, primarily Geriatric Evaluation Management (GEM). In particular, this includes assisting patient mobility practice, supervising patient exercise and therapy across both individual and group sessions, and other duties as directed.

Duties include

  • Implementation of treatment as directed including exercises, mobility, ADL retraining and gait aid provision
  • Accurate treatment monitoring and evaluation of patients programs and conditions
  • Maintain effective communication with all team members including reporting back to the supervising physiotherapist regarding patient management and progress.
  • Administration duties to assist in the daily operation of the Physiotherapy department.

The classification for this position is Allied Health Assistant Grade 2 IN29 ($61,313 per annum).
