About the Role

As the Rehab@Home Registrar you will provide day to day clinical management of patients participating the Rehab@Home program under the direction of the Director of Rehabilitation Services and Rehab@home Consultant at the St George’s campus of St Vincent’s Hospital. Responsibilities include clinical management of rehabilitation patients at home in the St Vincent’s catchment of the Cities of Yarra and Boroondarra.

 The Disability Clinics include;

  • Young Adults with Complex Disability Clinic  (YACDC)
  • YACD spasticity management clinic
  • Intrathecal Baclofen Clinic
  • Polio Services Clinic (including regional clinics)

You will work with clinicians with considerable experience in management of severe and complex disability. It is expected that registrar appointed to this position will be in the latter part of their training and have an interest in developing procedural skills including botulinum toxin injections, nerve blocks and the management of potential and established patients with intrathecal baclofen pumps.

Responsibilities include:

  • Clinical oversight of the rehabilitation patients.
  • Rehabilitation medicine assessment and management of patients attending ambulatory rehabilitation programs
  • Participation in in-service training program for the rehabilitation team
  • Involvement in research and quality programs being undertaken by the rehabilitation service
  • Education Programme
  • Weekly sessions with supervisor
  • Weekly AFRM registrar tutorials
  • Monthly St Vincent’s Hospital rehabilitation in-service programme
  • Weekly SVHM medical grand rounds
  • Weekly journal club meetings at St George's
  • Opportunity to attend numerous clinical meetings at both St Georges and St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne.

Classifications for this position will range from HM25 - HM30 ($125,900.8424 - $173,290.00 per annum).
 

Your Contribution

  • MBBS or Equivalent
  • Undertaking training in Rehabilitation Medicine
  • Unrestricted General AHPRA registration
  • Valid National criminal history check

About Rehab @ Home
The Rehab@Home program is based at the St George’s Campus at Kew. Other services based at St George’s include Inpatient Rehabilitation, Geriatric, Transitional Care and Aged Psychiatry Services as well extensive ambulatory services including  GEM@Home and a Community Rehabilitation Centre. The Rehabilitation@Home Medical team  comprises 1 Consultant, 1 Registrar and 1 second or third  year HMO. The position is accredited for Rehabilitation Medicine training.
