Job Description:

Position Title: Registered Nurse

Employment Type: Permanent Part Time
Hours per week: 24 hours per week
Position Grade: Registered Nurse (Year 1 to 8)
Salary: $70,049.73 - $98,351.39 Base salary per annum (Pro Rata)

About the role:

An opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced Registered Nurse to work within the Rankin Court Treatment Centre (RCTC), in the Alcohol and Drug Service. This Registered Nurse will possess the appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team. Our progressive and innovative team offers development opportunities for our staff and a caring environment for the delivery of high quality patient centred care. RCTC is part of the Alcohol and Drug Service. RCTC provides outpatient opioid pharmacotherapy treatment, 7 days per week, and is one of nine clinical units of the Alcohol and Drug Service at St Vincent’s Hospital which includes the Alcohol and Drug Information Service (ADIS – state-wide telephone service), Stimulant Services, Outpatients, Telehealth, Gambling Treatment Program, Alcohol and Drug Hospital Liaison, PANDA Unit and Gorman Unit (inpatient detoxification).

Working within a harm minimisation framework, the suitable candidate will take a clinical role within a multidisciplinary team in managing clients’ opioid dependency, and other psychosocial factors related to their health and welfare. In addition the individual will be required to provide care coordination through setting realistic short and long term goals with clients and performs interventions appropriately. Working to promote and advocating best health outcomes for individual clients.

2. Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency

3. Demonstrated ability to work within the interdisciplinary team

4. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development

5. Demonstrated computer literacy with email and an electronic patient record system

6. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills

7. Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in their daily practice as a registered nurse

8. Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads within a complex environment
