Job Description:

Position Title: Registered Nurse
Employment Type: Permanent Full Time
Hours per week: 38 hours
Position Grade: Registered Nurse (Year 1 - 8)
Salary: $70,049.73 - $98,351.39 Base per annum

Agreement: The Named NSW (Non-Declared) Affiliated Health Organisations' Nurses Enterprise Agreement 2017

About the role:

A vacancy exists in the above unit for a highly motivated Registered Nurse with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team, experience in nursing within the drug and alcohol setting is valued but not essential. Our progressive and innovative team offers development opportunities for our staff and a caring environment for the delivery of high-quality patient-centered care. The successful applicant(s) will be expected to be able to work in our Acute Detoxication Unit to provide patient-centered care to clients accessing our service with substance use issues. We are committed to providing care to disenfranchised members of our community who present from a range of diverse backgrounds requiring support with individualised psychosocial needs.

The Gorman Unit is a medically supervised alcohol and drug short stay unit that provides inpatient withdrawal management including specialist care involving managing withdrawal symptoms, psychosocial support by our multidisciplinary team and post-discharge planning. The candidate must be able to work effectively within this multidisciplinary team to provide safe, quality care to our clients.

About you:
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Registered Nurse who possess a passion for person centered care. .

Selection Criteria:
1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.
2. Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency.
3. Demonstrated nursing experience in providing holistic care to patients with evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in their daily practice as a registered nurse.
4. Demonstrated ability to work within the interdisciplinary team.
5. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
6. Demonstrated computer literacy with email and an electronic patient record system.
7. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads within a complex environment.
